Pop tart Britney Spears will make her big comeback performance by opening the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday.

MTV has billed the Las Vegas show as Britney’s "long-awaited comeback".

Her performance of Gimme More will be the 25-year-old’s first major show in three years.

Spears’ new track, Gimme More, was produced by Timbaland’s protégé Danja.

Britney put her music career on hold in 2004 after marrying dancer Kevin Federline and having two children with him.
